About Us

YAD's background

With the aim of providing quality essential services in health and education, Yemen 

Association for Development “YAD” has been established to respond to the main 

challenges facing the country. Providing timely, essential and acceptable 

life saving interventions to underserved populations is a strategic direction for our 

association that we plan to achieve through working with local communities.  

 Our operational plan for the period 2016-2020 is built on ongoing efforts by the 

development partners in health and education to deliver essential humanitarian 

services in Yemen framed by the Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan (YHRP). 

How YAD got started

Considering the current challenges facing the country, YAD is working towards 

responding to the humanitarian and emergency requirements, including immediate 

life-saving operations and provision of services especially for the internally displaced 

persons (IDPs) and their hosting communities. 

On the health side, YAD is aiming at working with relevant development partners to 

ensure the delivery of medicines and health supplies to under-served populations 

and improve the quality of services through comprehensive packages of integrated 

operations including safe water tracking and sanitation. 

YAD's approach

Building on its development nature, YAD aims at strengthening the health and education 

systems by building the capacity of concerned human networks, ensure accessibility 

of targeted populations to basic services, provision of basic and essentials 

interventions, improve the information management system and ensuring effective
